In looking at the 1830-1860 census data for Bladen county and specifically at the family of Wm & Kitty (Tolar) Edge, I think I have a potential daughter that is not accounted for in my data base. 1830 census Edge, William free white males: 2 (under age 5).............son William J. Edge plus one unknown son 1 (age 10-15)................unknown ... possible relative of family? 1 (age 20-30)................head of family, William Edge free white females: 1 (age under 5).............daughter Hannah 1 (age 20-30)................Catherine "Kitty" (Tolar) Edge 1840 census Edge, William Bladen county, NC males 0 (under age 5) 1 age 5-9 (son Curtis) 1 age 10-14 (son Wm J) females: 3 under age 5 (unknown daughter {see note}, plus Drucilla & Emeline) 0 age 5-9 1 age 10-14 (Hannah) 1860 census: Source 1860 Bladen County Census Records House Name Age Sex Occupation POB 523 William Edge 59 M Farmer NC Kitty 49 F Domestic NC Drucilla 24 F Domestic NC Emaline 22 F Domestic NC Eliza M. 19 F Domestic NC Athaliah 17 F Domestic NC Sarah C. 13 F ............................NC Wm. Mary J (???) was born ca 1831 in NC. I suspect she is maiden name EDGE and daughter of Wm & Kitty. Coments? ----------- note also that there is a D. F. CAIN in 1860 census ... anyone know who he is?
