Dear Cains and Kanes, I have an Edward Cain and his wife Margaret who came from Ireland, born in the 1790's, city of origin and county unknown. They moved to Whitehaven/Workington, County Cumberland, England, spent a few years, and then went on to County Durham by 1841. They had several children. The family were coal miners, and seemed to be Protestant. Does anyone have any Cains or Kanes who lived in that area of Cumberland? IAdditional info supplied upon request. Have a wonderful day!!
