CAIN and Mary GARMON. John Cain was born in Gwinnett or Forsyth Co., GA in 1832. He was a member of Gwinnett County's Company B, 42nd GA Infantry Regiment, Independent Rebels in the Civil War. He was captured and spent two years at Camp Chase, OH Federal prison. He and Mary Garmon were married in the early 1870's. Mary's mother was half Cherokee. They had one child, Louvenia Elizabeth, b. 1878, in Sheltonsville, GA. In the late 1880's, they migrated to Denton Co., TX, where several of John's brothers had already settled.
