Cain, b. 1950;d, 1941 in Cunningham TWp, Chariton County, Sumner, MO in his daughter, Gertrude's home. Gertrude was married to Fred Ray Boley. They are my grandparents. James' father was Hezekiah Cain b around 1817 and d in Unionville, MO. He had five wives and James' mother was Martha Malisha Gipson/Gibson. Hezekiah was a circuit Baptist minister. First wife was Irene Woodward; m either 30 Oct1834 in McDonough Co, IL or 18Feb1833 in Hancock Co, IL-had no children: @Sarah Briscoe 18Feb1836, Adams County, IL; Children-John B. b 1837 Hancock Co.; Daniel 1838 Hancock Co, Nancy 1840, Hancock, and Elizabeth b 1841, Hancock. 3rd wife_____________Green b about 1820 Ill m 17Mar 1840; 4th-Nancy Kirk born 1823 Grainger Co. TN m 22aug1844 in Hancock Co, IL;Children: Milley b. 1845 Hancock Co.;Joseph 1848, Hancock; Armstead Nov 1848 Hancock; Martha I abt 1850 Hancock, Sarah J, b 1856 IL; Julia About 1858 IL Wm Jefferson b 1Mar1862 and 5th wife-Martha ! Melisha Gibson/Gipson b 1bout 1819: Children: listed above. Fred and Gertrude had 13 children of which my mother was one. I've traveled to Jacksonville, IL and checked the courthouse records there and found two of Hezekiah's marriage licenses reported. Appreciate any help you have. Linda Brown
