Absolom, age 19, in the 1850 Census, makes him born 1831, it makes me wonder if his mother Mary was a widow of A. S. Swisher, the father of a Absolom S. Swisher, (born 1831). Then, did this Mary (Margaret) Swisher remarried to John R. Cain in 1835? On the Marriage license of a Absolom S. Swisher, in Brown County Illinois, he lists his parents as A. S. Swisher and Mary (Unknown). Is it coincidence that these to Absolom's were born in 1831, one being a Kain and the other a Swisher, or, is it possible that Mary was a widow of A. S. Swisher in 1835, when her son Absolom was 4, and when she remarried John R. Cain April 13, 1835? First, is there anyone on the list that is a descendant of a Absolom Kain/Cain?
