    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Cain Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XOH.2ACIB/2246 Message Board Post: I’m looking for any information on Martin Cain, his wife Mary or Polly Shirley, and their three children, George, James, & Reuben. Some sources show spelling of last name as Caine and Kain. Martin Cain was born in Tennessee or Georgia by some notes about 1833. Some Census records indicate he was born 10 years earlier. Martin’s father and mother were also listed as being born in Tennessee although other locations show his mother as being born in Arkansas. As near as I can tell George was born in Arkansas about 1852; James was born in Arkansas about 1854; and Reuben was born in Arkansas in 1860. I have information on Reuben, but nothing much on George or James. Martin was in the civil war from 1864 to 1866. He homesteaded near Clearwater, Antelope County, Nebraska in 1886. The homestead was sold in 1893. From there, I can find no trace of Martin. If anyone can help me on this, I would be very grateful.
