George Sr married Roselyn Nern (Nearn or possibly Mearn) and gave birth to their only child in Brooklyn, NY. My father's name is Henry Kane. Could George Sr have had a brother or Uncle named Henry. That's the only info I have leads on right now.

North Carolina---William, Tice(He is, listed on their list as Liec)--but, we should be Mathias--and Benjamin Cain all listed on same page, 1800 census. Salisbury is the name of their residence? There is a Thomas and Daniel Cain, listed Salisbury, Rowan Co. N. C.---So this puts your William and Benjamin Cain, in the same neighborhood, at the same time. (Benjamin had a son, Mathias,) but, the way the listings are hard to prove that this is his son, as he is listed next to William, and also age hard to pinpoint.--Benjamin is given as being a son of Celia Steelman Cain, and spouse, so William 1760, and Benjamin 1770, could be brothers or half brothers? We just have to keep digging?

Haven't heard from you yet on my email, so didn't know if you were having a problem sending... Anyway, some additional info for you on Sally and Thomas. Sally was also known as Sarah. Thomas and Sally were married Sept. 4, 1890 in Lincoln County. At the time of their marriage, Thomas Cain had 3 chilren from his previous marriage. I have a couple possibities on who that may be, but nothing concrete. I believe she died shortly after the 3rd child was born, and Thomas remarried. Thomas's children from his first marriage were John, Cicero (sp?) and Thomas Jr. From his marriage to Sally (Sarah) he had Frank Cain and Ira Bell. Thomas was born in Monroe Tenn in 1847+/-, to Wilkerson Cain and Elizabeth J. Payne. They were married in Monroe TN on Nov 2, 1842. Wilkerson's parents were possibly born in SC. Prior to his marriage record, I've found several possibilities of his whereabouts, but nothing concrete. Would love to find someone with further information! on Wilkerson Cain. If there is any more info I can give you on Thomas and Sally, please let me know. You can email me direct at daniel_lk@sbcglobal.net

The last 2 or 3 generations, there haven't been too many males. My father came from a family of 7 girls and 3 boys. I had no brothers. (Or sisters for that matter) The only one of my generation that I can think of that went to Viet Nam was my husband, which certainly won't help you looking for James Cain. Good luck with your search.
