Hi Cheryl, my gg grandfather was Thomas J. Cain, born somewhere in Virginia in 1813. It has been said that several Cain brothers split up and went to different states. What are the family names? Thomas had a son named John. The Cain's are notorious for reusing family names. I too have been having a hard time finding the Virginia connection. My Thomas was born in Virginia, migrated to Georgia where he married in 1833, moved to Florida a couple years later then in the mid to late 70's went to Texas.
