    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Cain/Emory Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.cain/2900/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Still no luck with finding her information. I have been looking for a few years now and all i have found was a possible father for her somewhere on the net it was recorded by another researcher they thought Mary Ella's father was David Cain who married Denie unknown. David was born in South Carolina and Denie was born in Tennessee. It does show up in Boyds Creek Sevier County Tennessee 1880 census but i can not prove this is her family, as i well no there are quiet a few Mary, Mary Ella, Ella, even Ellen Cains out there. I have tried all these names and various spellings of the last name as well and still nothing positive comes up. Mine was married to Jonathan C. Emory born 1874 died 1927. I have just recently found his parents and was overjoyed about it. My mother said that Jonathan her grandfather was full blooded Cherokee but i can't prove that he was according to the few records i have found on him. Mary Ella and John had these children: Venice Mae 1920-1963 my grandmother Marie E. 1907-1993 Georgia E. 1912-1989 Illa V. 1922-1990 James 1900-1968 Thelma Daisy died 1969 Frank 1896-1976 John C. 1909-1989 I know some of thierchildren and thier children but i am very discouraged about finding out about the past. If anyone can help with this family please send me a message. Thank you in advance, Amanda

    1. [CAIN] Fw: DANIEL CAIN OF GREENE COUNTY, OHIO DATABASE
    2. Black's Farm
    3. Cain descendents To all Daniel Cain descendents I would like to create a data base of the descendents of the Daniel Cain who died in Greene County, Ohio, in 1850-1851 that would be shared at a later time when all the data has been confirmed. What I have to date may or may not be proven data and I would appreciate no one using it online until it is proven. If you descend from this man through the following possible children, please let me know and if willing, send me your information so that you can be included in this data base. I would like to work on this and put together a Cain line that is proven and true. Will you help? Dianne Cain Black Daniel Cain (Rev. 1. [CAIN] Cain and Custer
    2. David Armstrong
    3. Hello friends I am new to the list and have a question. I will spare everyone the details. Suffice it to say that in the 1770s two men, John Cain and Daniel Cain came to what is now Harrison County, West Virginia being land grantees and militia members. I was told some time ago that this Daniel Cain married a daughter of Arnold Custer and that John maried a girl named Booth. However I read several posts on this list from some years ago that seem to indicate that part of this is wrong and possibly proven wrong. If Daniel Cain of WV did not marry a Custer I don't want to spread that around. But he and John being military men I would like to know who they did marry and where they really came from. Can anyone point me to a site, record, or person who could prove for me the truth about the wfe of Daniel Cain and which Daniel really married a Custer? I will accept any outcome but if I am to take the position that West Virginia Daniel did not marry a Custer I would want to have proof to back it up. Also, if any proof or disproof exists on the John Cain - Booth marriage I would be grateful to see it. Finally Cornelius Cain, brother of the above, marched a miltia platoon into this valley in 1782 to protectthe settlers. I would like to know what eventually became of this Cornelius. If this has already been hashed out enough on the list feel free to contact me backchannel. THANK YOU in advance. Best regards, David Armstrong, Elkins, WV
