Ellener Baker(the first wife of Henry Baker) was born Eleanor Horner and is buried Ellen Baker (wife of Henry ) d. 1 Mar 1855. This death explains in part the change of wives to Nancy by the 1860 cnesus. Her surname makes me wonder if Tirzah's parents were scousins. A lot of the Horners lived in Indiana, some in Iowa or Ohio. My other comment is that I have three daughters for Eleanor and Henry Baker, but the second two are too young to be Tirzah's mom and I have no name for the first, so I am no help there. My last thought is that unless you have info to the opposite, keep in mind the fact that Tirzah may be Nancy's biological granddaughter and her mother's maiden name may not have been Baker at all. Just another possibility to add to your equation. Good Luck!!

None of your given names sound familiar. My ggrandmother, Johanna Cain, emigrated from Co. Tipperary, Ireland in 1856, I believe, with younger brother John (born 1844). They arrived in NY and came to Chicago. My guess is that they already had family connections in Chicago but I can't find info. on that. John appears to have stayed in Chgo., married and had 4 children. Fam. lived at 28th & Emerald in Sacred Heart Parish. Johanna married John Judge in abt. 1859. They moved to Muskegon or Pentwater, MI, had 5 children. John died abt. 1870. Johanna returned to Chgo. with children and lived near her brother, John. She died in Chgo., in 1906. If you find that Frank was a Chgo. resident I would appreciate hearing more about that. Thanks, Carol

There is indeed a genuine "virus" (technically a worm) called Bugbear, but it is not what is described here. If you have virus protection software operating (as everyone should) and you are notified of a Bugbear infection, understand that it is real and not the hoax described below. If any of you were, lets say as uninformed as I was, and followed through on deleting the file in question, I found this info on the Symantec site. NOTE: If you have already deleted the Jdbgmgr.exe file, in most cases, you do not have to reinstall it. The following is quoted from the Microsoft Knowledge Base article Virus Hoax: Microsoft Debugger Registrar for Java (Jdbgmgr.exe) Is Not a Virus (Q322993) <http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q322993> : "The Microsoft Debugger Registrar for Java (Jdbgmgr.exe) is only used by Microsoft Visual J++ 1.1 developers. If you follow the e-mail message instructions and delete this file, you do not have to recover it unless you use Microsoft Visual J++ 1.1 to develop Java programs on Windows XP, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows 98, or Windows 95." If you do need to restore this file, follow the instructions in Virus Hoax: Microsoft Debugger Registrar for Java (Jdbgmgr.exe) Is Not a Virus (Q322993) <http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q322993> :

Unfortunately, I don't think that its the same family. My Cains start with Patrick Cain (whose name I know only from his son John's obit) and M. Agnes Meashaw (possibly an Anglicized version of Michaud), born in Quebec c. 1814 Interestingly, I know Campbell and Kenton Counties quite well. The Cains are my wife's relatives, but my own Worthington and Corcoran relatives are from Campbelll and Kenton in the 1800s. Thanks again.
Daniel CAIN married Anna Nettie Hartman and they resided at 711 Marne Ave. in Monongahela, PA. at the time of his death. Anna was born Jan. 7, 1890 and died July 19, 1981. I do not know the place of birth. Daniel was born May 5, 1886 in Gilmore, Washington County, PA. and died March 24, 1976 in Monongahela, PA. at the age of 89. Daniel had one brother named Charles CAIN. Daniel and Anna had 6 daughters, Helen, Mary, Ruth, Betty, Edith and Sara and 1 son, Neil (Buddy). His wife, Anna, and daughter, Sara and son, Neil preceded him in death. Neil was killed in WWII. I do not know much about Daniel's parents(dates) but Daniel's parent's names were James CAIN and Margaret CHESTNUT.To this marriage were born 6 children: William, James, Sarah, Frances (who married a Hartman) and last child was Daniel. James married a second time to Edith Chestnut (maybe Margaret's sister???) and they had 4 children: Henry, John, Charles and Dennis. I would like to know more about Daniel's parents. And more about his siblings. I have no birth or marriage dates on them or where they were originally from. I do have info on the marriages and children's names of the CAIN children of Daniel and Anna. But again no dates. Any help appreciated. Marian

In the file for my wife's relatives, I have a Patrick Cain and M. Agnes Meashaw (b. 1814), whose children included Cornelius (b. 1841), Alexander (1843), John Francis (b. 1854 - this is my wife's ancestor) and M. Agnes Kane (b. 1853 - who is possibly your "Mary Cain"). I will be looking up the marriage record (1881) in the local LDS center here on my next visit. The Whalen connection sounds interesting, since my records indicate that Cornelius Cain married Martha Matilda Whalen (I haven't been able to locate the marriage record here, but these are the parental names that appear on the marriage record for their da Sarah Cain, who married in 1912). Let me know if you agree that there's likely a connection here, and we can exchange info. Michael
