He immigrated in 1838 to Benton County, Missouri and left later for the California Gold Rush. The Record of Heirs lists his residence as Eureka, Humboldt, County, California on 15 March 1873. I found on the internet where a Louis Windler married Mary Ladd on 28 Dec 1869 in Alameda, CA but can't prove this is the same person. Any information would be helpful.
