Seeking the location of their respective grave sites and any > other family history details. Regards, Ed Costello, Raleigh NC Ed: I have looked through a number of local genealogical indexes that I have here at home, and found only a few entries: (1) There was the marriage of you Henry J. Laverty to Hellen Douarin on 8 September 1897 in Eureka. #2-266. Note the two "L's" in Hellen's given name. This was from the book: "Humboldt County Marriage Records 1864 -1911." Indexed by the Humboldt County Genealogal Society, 1979. (2) There was the marriage of Thaddeus ALbert Smith to Narue Frabces Douarin on 17 June 1884 in Blue Lake. H=329. This might be Hellen's mother or sister! This entry from the saem book as above. (3) The death of: Douarin, Frank J. Died 4-November 1908 in Korbel (Just east of Blue Lake) Buried: Blue Lake. Born 3- March 1877 in California. Parents: Helen M (William) & Frank Douarin. Occup: Clerk. Cause: infection. CERT 1-227. This was from the book: "HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CALIFORNIA DEATH RECORDS. nAbstracts of Books 1 & 2, 1873 - 1925, Volumes I & II." Compiled by Marilyn Keach Milota, Published by The Humboldt County Genealogical Society, January, 1993. (4) The eath of: DOUARIN, Francois M. b 1837. d. 1905. Buried: Blue Lake Cemetery. This may be Hellen's father, uncle or grandfather? Found in the book: Some Deaths and Burials in Humboldt Co. California 1852- 1905. by the Redwood Genealogical Society, Fortuna, Humboldt County, California. (5) Lastly, from my propriety database, there is a Margaret "Peg" Laverty BILLINGS living at 1636 J Street, Eureka, California 95501-266036. Telephoen (707) 442-7428. She is elderly, 88 I think. The telephone book shows a Denver Billings listed at that address rather than Margaret, so it is possible that she is deceased and I haven't taken note of the fact as of this date. I haven't scanned the Great (Voter's) Registers as of yet. I will, if you wish. I hope that this info helps a bit, or at least rule some things out. Denver Billings may be able to tell you more.
