They list names and address and I would WRITE not call each and every one of them, explain what you are trying to do and that you would like MEDICAL HISTORY. The man might not even KNOW he is the dad and it would be nice to break a grown kid to him gently. I have found phone calls while fast and easy are often a source of irritation for the person who gets them they think they are prank calls and hang up etc. a letter is less threatening. Anyway, that would be where i would start, and then go from there with follow up calls from those you don't hear from. Checking on the birth indexes for him does little good as he may not even have been born in california. I did check the death index and didn't seem to find him listed there.
