Never assume. Sorry. Good for your stong willed grandmother. No one at the time photos are taken realizes how precious they will be later. Of the portraits found in Norway, there is one taken of a man and woman and young 3-4ish child wearing a boyish looking sailor style hat. This is the most damaged portrait and the one that causes me the most puzzlement. I don't have a clue who they are. It was taken at Chase & Co., Cooper Bldg, Eureka, California. There is one of a child standing in a very ornate chair, who is wearing a skirt & top with large white cuffs and a very large white collar. I cannot tell if this is a male or female child. I would guess about 3 years old. my Aunt Ann Gross was born in 1894 and my Dad in 1896. The portrait was taken by Kukend_ _ _ Photo. sucessor to Chase & Co. 335 F St. Eureka, California. Another is the one of my grandfather and it appears to have Larson embossed in scrpt at the bottom of the cardboard frame. The one I believe is my grandmother has an embossed printing however only the tops of what appears to be two words is visible. It is written at a slant in the center of the frame. First word looks like the top of a very fancy "C" with decoratation at the initial curve like dots. Second word looks like top of a capital Lui_ _ (both short words). The portrait of them together, which I think was when they got married, has no identifyig studio visible at all. Thank you very much for any assistance you might be able to locate.
