    3. In the book by Orton, he appears on two pages according to the index page 678 John Brehmer, private enlisted Yreka Sept. 12, 1861 date of muster Oct. 2, 1861 Company A, 5th Regiment Infantry discharged at Mesilla NM, November 30, 1864, expiration of term of service (? can someone be discharged after death) roster of Deceased Officers and Enlisted Men of CA Volunteers who died in service John Brehmer, July 29, 1862, Tucson, Arizona Territory, disease so, ordering his military records will give you further information on him. If he was married there might have been pension records also. If you would like copies of these two pages along with the historical data on Company A (I'm guessing there might be 10-15 pages total) I can copy them from the book for you. Copies are 25 cents a page (postage would be another 55 or 77 cents to mail them probably). Orton goes into detail on where and what happened to Company A.
