Left wife Elizabeth Blanton children: Mrs. Jacob O. Showers, Anna, Mattie, Lee, Wm. & Frank Blanton. (from Humboldt Standard newspaper, notice 15 July; Humboldt Times, obit 15 July & article, 17 July). Elizabeth, died 29 November 1918 at her home on Whipple Street, Eureka. (Note: Whipple has been renamed "Fourteenth Street" at this point, and it crosses my street about 35 feet south of my house, a 1904 all-redwood foursauare -- Don T-C).. Age: 82 years, 3 months, born in 1836 in Washington County, Arkansas. Came overland to California in 1852. Maiden name: Sheppard. Widow of John Blanton. Children: Mrs. Jacob O. Showers, Anna, Mattie, Lee, Wm. & Frank Blanton Niece: Mrs. A. L. Dudley. (Humboldt Times, obit 30 November). The above from page 35, Obituaries, Humboldt County, 1911 -- 1920.
