Winona would have been born abt 1908 in Bakersfield, CA but no record found of that event. Her mother Elvira Sabrey Meyer, born 10/23/1892 LA California, may have had Winona out of wedlock, so last name at birth is not known. (Meyer, Myer, Romine) She may have died in Reno, NV in the thirties (est. 1933-1938). She left behind two children Norvin Jay Barton, born10/15/29 & Bonsha Ray Barton, born 6/19/1928. The children were taken to nuns in Reno, and later returned to an Oregon orphanage after the mother’s death. (I have searched orphanage records but no aditional help) Winona may have divorced or remarried so last name could have changed at death. Winona & Sam Barton lived in Medford, OR in 1930 according to the census records. Winona married Sam James Barton abt 1926, but he left Winona and the 2 children without any record. I have worked very hard on this, but do not have any more info. I was hoping for any possible record on this event. Thanks, Jay Barton
