Hello, I am looking for birth and death records from Fieldbrook, Ca CA 1913 and 1914. My grandmother Edith Rose (Brogi) Franceschi was born in Fieldbrrok in 1913.  I am looking for her birth record.  Since she was Catholic, the records might be in a church somewhere.  I have no idea where to start there. My Great Granfather Pietro Rotillo Brogi was killed in a Logging Accident in 1914.  He is Edith's father. This one i do not know the name of the company that was logging in the Fieldbrook area in 1913.  I have been told it was the Scotia lumber company, but I can not find any record of a company by that name. I have been to Fieldbrook and they do not know what would have happened to those records from tha long ago.  They said they might be in Arcata, but Arcata knew nothing about them either.  The county recorder in Eureka has no records either.  I know there was a fire in the 1930's, at least that is what have been told, that destoryed some records. I could use some help to get me started in the right direction with finding these two records.   HELP!!!! Thanks Lorie Franceschi

Arlene: I was not able to find a marriage reference for either person form 1864 until `9``. Could they have been married prior to arrival in Humboldt County? Or gone elsewhere to get married ? I do have information regarding the births of their six children. Tracy: There are many books regarding the history of Humboldt County. They name the people that pioneered this area. There is a group of people that meet once a month for lunch (I spoke to them a few months ago) called the Society of Humboldt Pioneers. Our County Library has a Humboldt Room, with lots of materials. Probably a good way to start is to trace back your relative's lineage, if you don't have the family surname at your fingertips. I can probably help with this.
