I haven't read over all of my Linser history for awhile to give exact answers to locations in California. I know Blue Rock, Bell Springs and Benbow are all in the same area where the Linser's lived. Mattie and Ernest's daughter, Vera, married Walter Benbow. I have a lot of history on this family, but saw no reference to any John W. Crooks, in my QUICK glance through the notes. If you have any more questions about the Hamilton's, I can help you in that area. Mattie was the sister of John W. Hamilton. She was born in Kentucky and moved to California after her father died.

    1. [CAHumboldt] Fw: [ANNOUNCE] Serious Problems Ahead for USGenNet
    2. Sue Silver
    3. Greetings, For those who have participated in reading my previous posts regarding California cemeteries and the problems we have had, you may not have noticed that the California Saving Graves website is hosted by US GenNet which is a totally FREE and AD FREE provider. US GenNet is in need of funds to help it continue to provide totally FREE genealogy website services. They are asking for help to fund them in the coming year. I am pledging to send them $200 in February (after I receive my annual gift income). I would like to ask anyone who would like to contribute to this most worthy project/cause to donate whatever amount you might be able to contribute. Every $5 or $10 donation multiplies by the numbers of people donating. "Every little bit helps." And it's TAX DEDUCTIBLE! If you would like to contribute, here is the address: Treasurer: Rhoda Fone 999 Bridgeport Way Rio Vista, California 94571 [Please make checks payable to USGenNet] Thanks so much for your support. 1. [CAHumboldt] Veterans in Historic Cemeteries
    2. Sue Silver
    3. Greetings, On the eve of Veterans Day I've been reflecting on the many historic cemeteries in which a vast number of our nation's veterans are still buried. Many, many of those cemeteries are in sad states of repair and care with our civil representatives having ignored their plight and condition for many decades now. As you spend your Tuesday with your co-workers, family or friends, please remember your ancestors who fought for our nation. If you are able, please go to a local historic cemetery and see if the cemeteries where our veterans now rest in peace are in the kind of condition you believe they deserve. If they are not in a well maintained cemetery, take the time to call your local representative and ask that some attention be paid to the neglected cemeteries where these veterans now lie for eternity. Ask them if they would want their ancestors to rest in a place that looks so bad or if they believe the resting places of our veterans should be so disrespected. Please ask them to care, and to help us to show respect for the last "homes" of our pioneer citizens and veterans. Respectfully, Sue Silver, State Coordinator California Saving Graves
