Looking for anyone who has a photo of Sarah Nixon, wife of Isaac Nixon, that could compare the photos for a positive identification. The photo is undated and I did not see and studio name that would help date the photo. This photo was in the possession of Sarah "Sadie" (DENNY) BRANDON at the time of her death. Surnames: Kausen Classification: Death Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AW.2ADI/668.1 Message Board Post: GRIDLEY (Butte County) - 7/11/1910 - While swimming with Charles Neel and another companion in the Feather River yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clcok, Ernest Kausen, a nephew of W.H Hall, merchant of this city, and employed in the Hall store, was drowned. Neel almost met simular fate, Kausen taking down his comrade with him twice. The young man had just shot the rapids and were in swift and deep water above the riffles when Klausen gave out and was taken with a cramp, He said nothing, but grabbed Neel and took him down twice. The companion finally suceeded in breaking away from the drowning man and climbed ashore, but could do nothing to save Kausen. The river is being dragged by a score of friends, but the body was not found up to noon today. Kausen was 22 years of age and well known and liked. His people live in Humboldt County. His wife Margaret Hamilton born abt 1786. The only connection between James Baker Hamilton and the Hamilton's in Humboldt related to the Thompsons is Jane Thompson who was married to John Hamilton before he married Margaret cander Baskin in Va. Margaret Hamilton passed away in 1862 and John Hamilton in 1868? I have James and Levicy with Margaret c. Hamilton born S.C. 1786 with them at Decatur co. Iowa. James Alexander Hamilton and Mary powell and their son William M. Hamilton are listed with Lucinda Hamilton. Please let me know if this is possible. Joan

Brown Frances Helen Brown died May 1, 2004, in Salem, Ore. She was 87 years old. She was born Dec. 23, 1916, in Harris and grew up on the Humboldt coast above Trinidad. She graduated from Arcata High School in 1933. A homemaker for many years, she went to work as an assistant manager of the Scotts Valley Fruit Exchange of Lakeport in 1952. Four years later, she moved her family to Davis and worked for the next 23 years at UC Davis - first in pomology, then at the veterinary clinic, then back to pomology. She was a horsewoman all her adult life, and was also involved with square dancing and sailing. She also loved to sew and knit. She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Crawford H. Brown. She is survived by a son, James R. Ley, and two daughters, Helen Punches and Judy Mehrens, all of Port Orchard, Wash. She is also survived by two grandsons, five granddaughters, two great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters. A graveside service for the family will be held on July 11 at the Davis Cemetery, 820 Pole Line Road. (Obituary from the "The Davis Enterprise," Wednesday, May 19, 2004, (Yolo County, California). Lee. Interesting thing is, she died young and for some unknown reason is buried in the same plot as Dr. Falk, Sr., without a headstone saying she's buried there with him.
