It is not available to be checked out, and the man I talked to said I would need to talk to someone higher up than he is to see if it can be sent on interlibrary loan. He didn't sound hopeful, since it is a one of a kind. It apparently is over 100 pages, so rather lengthy. Copyrighted so can't be copied, except for personal use, which I would say we qualify for. Please email me privately so we don't clog up the board, and let me know what you would like me to do. I could take notes of genealogical details such as dates, full names, marriages, etc. Jackie bluelaker4 @ cox.net (delete the spaces)

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AW.2ADI/1292.2.1.1.2 Message Board Post: Jackie, my great grand uncle's name is: Patrick A. Gaynor (could possibly be spelled, Gayner, Gainor). He was born in Chatham, New Brunswick, Canada, in January 1860 or 1862. Both his parents were born in Ireland, though his parents were small children traveling with their parents from Ireland to Canada. Patrick died mysteriously in Panama in 1915 (I'm trying to obtain a death certificate from Panama -- got a contact there). Patrick immigrated to U.S. via Pennsylvania, so the story goes, creating, building, maintaining and possibly owning lumber mills. There's an article in Humbolt newspaper (Arcata Union?) in 1894 (don't have a date) that he "purchased the business of James Creek store and taken a lease on all of the belongings of the company." According to the paper, he had been in California 8 years (I'd like to obtain a copy of that article). Immigration must have taken place between 1880 and 1890. I did find on the internet a 1900 Census. From this Census ther! e is some question as to whether he was married twice. There is a 1920 Census that lists his (possible) 2nd wife and she's listed as a widow. There's only a small window of time here with the 1890 Census information destroyed. If this is too much work for you, just let me know. I am most appreciative for all that you are offering thus far. Sincerely, Deborah Gaynor

Most Libraries, us included, will loan items only to other libraries. Fortunately, almost all libraries will provide interlibrary loan services for their users. They may find a copy of this work at another library or borrow from us, that's up to your local library. Happy New Year, Jeremy C. I don't know if the library is open at the moment, since school isn't back in session after the Christmas break, but I'll find out and do what I can. I don't know if the book (if they still have it) can be put on interlibrary loan or something like that. Just in case it can, what would be the closest library to you that participates in that? Also, I have subscription to all the censuses, so if you need a lookup for your great granduncle 1930 or prior, let me know.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AW.2ADI/1292 Message Board Post: I have a lead on a document that was written by a long, lost cousin of mine. It's entitled: " The Gaynor Girls Remember," by Helen Gaynor Lum, published 1979 (c. 1976). I have found this document (105 leaves -- I'm not certain how it's bound) at the Humboldt County College, 3rd Floor - Humboldt Room (Non-Circulating). The Call Number is: F869-A7-G39-1979. I'm not able to obtain a copy of this document because I live in Maryland. The Notes of this document says that it's a record of "genealogies, dated 8/12/79, bound in at front. First issued 1969; includes facsimile of original cover, with title: The Gaynor girls remember, by Gwen, Pat and Helen. Photocopy of transcript." Is there someone who attends this College that's able to review this document for me and send me a copy? Or show me how I might obtain a copy? I'm not having much luck so far, unless I purchase a roundtrip plane ticket to California. Hope there are Humbolt County researchers out there!! Happy ! New Year to you all. Thank you for reading this request, and any help would be much appreciated. Deborah Gaynor

    3. Clay: Yes and no. The area is still here, marked mainly by a sporting goods store named "BuckSports," on South Broadway street, (US 101). In the area is the Bucksport cemetery, now part of a larger complex (St. Bernard's cemetery, ect.), now owned by the big corporation that try's to call itself "Dignity." Otherwise, it is not an incorporated city nor even an identifiable town or area.
