No locations where they might live. The mortuary could probably help you out with that. Why don't you send me your address and I will send you a copy of the obit. It is a very interesting story about him and his life.
China Flat was near Willow Creek. There is a museum in Willow Creek called the China Creek Museum. Manila is a little town which still exists across the bay from Eureka on the Samoa Peninsula. I have never heard of Acorn and there are several places in the county referred to as Redwood Creek.
I don't know what happened to my answer to you. Did you get it? I checked the library today for an obit for you. I just realized that I must have transcribed his date of death wrong. I checked in the paper for a death around Feb. 9, which I had then also around May 18 which is the date I got somewhere else online. The next time I go to the library I will look again for May 9, 1939 Sorry for the mixup. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AW.2ADI/1310 Message Board Post: Hi subscribers..... Some of you may already know me. I am the state contact for the CAGenExchange, and the mail list administrator. I have watched as our mail list has grown, and I am excited to see the number of folks joining our ranks. Please feel free to look through the entire site and, if you live in CA, or have access to information for CA, we could sure use your help. When you are researching a certain county and there is no coordinator, we would love to have you contact us with information from your local phone books or other sources available to you in your area. My commitment is that this GenExchange Project be one of the top projects on the web. It is entirely dedicated to free raw data and is here for you to use and explore. Living in any of the counties and having access to a local phone book, even for just one city, can make the difference in someone's research somewhere in the world. Please know that you can never be sure what you might contribute that might make a brick wall crumble for someone. It's amazing what a little generosity can do for others. We need the addresses of local cemeteries, funeral homes, libraries and archives (including university archives), museums, genealogical associations, historical associations and societies, churches in your communities, historians, courthouses, monuments and other historical sites, newspapers, schools, etc. If you would like to adopt a county for which you have access to records and raw data, I would be happy to send you the County Coordinators guidelines. If not, know that you can become an invaluable assistant to the project by entering information from your local phonebook or records you may have. Please help me help you in your research endeavors and let's join together to create an outstanding project for others to do their research. Any comments and contributions will be graciously accepted. A free family history / social history / cultural history of the United States from 1620-2006 is available at _http://www.winsite.com/bin/Info?22000000036712_ (http://www.winsite.com/bin/Info?22000000036712) . The download is a software program that I created that allows you to read the book "STILL CASTING SHADOWS: Two American Families 1620-2006" written by Blackbird Crow Raven (Spartacus O'Clare). The acknowledgment section may include the names of one or more people from this mailing list who have contributed in some way to the book. You can print the manuscripts, but beware in that case that the main document is almost 500 pages. You can send feedback, suggestions, comments, questions to either the programmer (me) or the author (Blackbird Crow Raven) from within the software program. Clay Shannon

Robin: I saw your earlier posting, but did not reply as I am swamped, preparing for my first trip to Europe. Will leave Tuesday. Back the first week in May. Unfortunately, our local wonderful transcriber, Marilyn Keach Milota has got only as far as December, 1947 in her compilations for Humboldt County deaths. If you remind me in May, I'll take a look at the microfilm newspapers at our library for Bruce Jennings.
