Here's the info site for CA vital records: http://vitalrec.com/ca.html Make sure you visit the link for the county of death listed - quite often it's much faster to deal with the county for a copy of the death certificate than it is with the state. If you do order from the state, fax your order. It's the fastest way to get the certificate and you can order up to 5 certificates for the $7.00 credit card surcharge. 1. [CAHUMBOL] obit lookup
    2. Jennie, I'm so glad you ask since I was going to post this today. I wrote to the Reference Department at the Humbolt County Library at 1313 3rd St., Eureka, CA 95501 and asked for a look up of 2 obits and the news story of the murder (gun shot that made the papers). The librarian that I had spoke to on the phone said to include as much info. as possible (dates especially) and send a little money. I sent the letter and a check for $5 to the library and told them to let me know of any extra for research costs. I mailed the letter Feb. 24 and received a reply with everything I asked for today. I would have gladly sent $20 or more for what was sent to me. They were wonderful! I believe he died around 1882. His wife's name was Hannah, I do not know if they had any children in California. I am interested to find his exact date of death or his place of burial. Can anyone do cemetery lookups? I have heard that he was quite wealthy, does anyone have any information available about him that would be of help to me? Thanks, Joyce Bremer Glover
