>From "The Cagles Family IN The South, To 1850," Volume 1: North Carolina by John G. Cagle, 1983. John lists several Cagles who were associated with the Rev. War. On the loosing side were Capt. John Cagle who was Hanged on the Pee Dee River in 1782. Also, in 1776, one Jacob Cagle was accused as being an associate of David Jackson who was a feared and violent Loyalist. John G. Cagle suggests that Jacob was probably the same as the Jacob Cagle, 1755-1845, who later fought for the American cause.
