This John Cagle, Jr. was a son of John & Pheriby (Rogers) Cagle. He was a brother to my GGgrandfather, Lot Rogers Cagle. I recently discovered that I had several of his children incorrectly listed. I had one of his children listed as Ettazner. Ettazner was actually, Ellezann or Elles(sp) Ann "Ella" and was erroneously listed with her parents,John & Martha A. (Bain) Cagle, as Elias A., 2, male. John's Civil War Pension file listed the 4 children of his first marriage then crossed them out with numerous lines, making the l's appear as t's in Ellezann's name. These are the children of John & Martha A. (Bain) Cagle, Jr.: June or Jane Ann, b: c 1853 TN Ellezann "Ella", b: c 1858 TN George W., b: Feb 1860 TN Elija, b: April 1869 TN John stated in 1898 that he and Martha divorced "about 27 years ago". John Cagle married Lana J. "Lanny" Brooks 01 Dec 1872 in Trenton, GA. Their children were: Amanda Jane "Mandy" "manda", b: 16 Nov 1874 TN John, b: 23 Jan 1877 Monroe Co., TN Pherbie Loretta, b: 02 Feb 1880 Monroe Co., TN Lula, b: 01 Aug 1885 Monroe Co., TN Benjamin Columbus "Lum", 10 Sep 1887 Blockton, Bibb Co., AL Walter T., b: 21 Nov 1891 in Blockton, Bibb Co., AL Pearl, b: 06 Feb 1898 in Blockton, Bibb Co., AL Bertha "Bearthy", b: 07 Jan 1902 in Blockton, Bibb Co., AL Lana Brooks was born 17 March 1858 in TN; d: 18 April 1936 in Valley Head, DeKalb Co., AL and is buried in Mullens Cemetery same location. John Cagle, Jr. was born 1834 in Sevier Co., TN and d: 27 July 1902 in Blockton, Bibb Co., AL. Martha (Bain) Cagle was born 1837 TN and d: 1898 in Athens, McMinn Co., TN.
