After reading countless messages concerning the names Leonard Kegel's sons, I started searching to see if I could come up with something that might help us. I found the following site that explains the naming of the German and PA German children. The address is www.kerchner.com/nickname.htm . After looking at the Americanized versions of some of the names, go to the very bottom of the page and click on German Naming Customs. I think that will explain why we might have 2 Johns or Georges or whatever in this family. Hope it helps someone.
