I found this reference to a Carl Kegel, from the Milwaukee city directory. I am not sure why some German Kegel's, kept this spelling and others Cagle. I think that there was a point in time of immigration to America, that the name didn't change. There are several factors as to why some of us became Cagle, and others kept the German form Kegel.
