OK. This will not clear up things much. I'll need some more help. What John G. Cagle says in "Cagle's of Northwest Georgia" is that Jacob 1766 could be son of either John Dutchman or Charles, as both list sons named Jacob in wills. He says that he discusses this at length (and presumably gives his opinion as to lineage) in the chapter on Pickens Co. Problem is that I do not have the book which contains the Pickens Co. chapter. Does anyone have the book with the Pickens Co. info? BTW, in same passage John G. Cagle says that both Jacob b. 1804 m. Eliza Robbins and Joseph Roland b. 1808 m. Rebecca Ingram (the progenitors of the vast Cherokee Co. family) are sons of Jacob 1766. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, January 22, 2004 3:50 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [CAGLE] Re: Cagle Research Damon, Will you quote from the source where you find John G Cagle confirming the parentage of Jacob 1766. John G has changed his opinion on many of his earliest theories and this may just be the case. I don't have all his published papers, but someone on the list will have it and can search it out.
