He was born in Ashville, N.C., and was the owner of the Fletcher Hills Golf Range. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Carmen Cagle; daughter, Kelli Cagle of Santee; son, Michael Cagle of Lakeside; sisters, Genieva, Nancy and Caroline; and four grandchildren.
