Hello Kinfolk! I want to thank you all for making me feel so welcome! I appreciate the info on W.U. Cagle. The information I can contribute, such as it is, is given to me by Harry Lee Cagle, my father-in-law. Chester Winford Sr had three children by Bertie Dodson: Ernest Stein, Glenn Lee (who married Judy and had children Linda and Patrick), and Billy Joe Sr (who had Billy Joe Jr, JoAnne, and Tammy Jo). Chester Winford had five children by Edith Broglin: Flora Mae, Geraldona (known as Cupie-she had Leon, Willie, Sally, Dottie, Charlie, Harry, Timmy, and James (?) by husband whose name is no longer remembered), Chester Winford Jr. (who married Mildred Moore and had a son whose name is Winford-I am unsure if his full name is Chester Winford or not), and Harry Lee (who married Mary Hogan and had son Randy who married Susan Thoeming and had daughter Miranda Cagle). Is that confusing enough for ya? The only source of confusion I have encountered is regarding Peter Cagle's father Jacob. I have encountered two possible paths of lineage for Jacob (but all roads lead to Rome, or in this case Leonhart). One is that Jacob was the child of Henry Cagle Jr, who was the child of William Cagle Sr, who was the child of Henry Cagle, son of Leonhart Kegel. The other is more direct...this Jacob is the child of Christopher (aka Christian) who was the child of the same Henry Cagle, son of Leonhart Kegel. I sure wish I could hop in the ole time machine and tell these people that it would make our jobs a whole lot easier if they didn't all name their kids Jacob (or Henry for that matter). The census data for that generation shows a whole heap of Jacob Cagles living in Moore County NC and in various TN counties as well. Does anyone know for sure which Jacob was Peter's dad?
