Hi Everyone This obit is for William Marion Cagle he is my gr grandfather Charles Arter Cagle"s nephew, But he is not a Cagle he is Jeremiah Meeks and he is the son of Richard and Susan Cagle Standridge Meeks. Squire Meeks was not a half brother he was full brother, He also had a full brother named James Washington Meeks who also went by the name of James Richard Cagle. The story goes like this Susan Cagle Standridge Meeks moved her family to Stone County, Missouri, were her brother Henry Carson Cagle's family was living. Susan's son's Jeremiah and James did not want to stay there so they stole two horse's and off they went back to Arkansas. Will you know how it was in those day's so they both changed there names to there mothers maiden name Cagle. On William Marion Cagle's delayed birth certificate he has his Father as Henry Cagle (His grandfather) and his mother is listed as Susie Meeks. Then at the bottom of the delayed birth certicate he has Henry Cagle as father and Susie Cagle as mother. The only documents he showed for proff were is marriage license and a Mutual Aid union policy. By the way another short note Ella Fee William Marion Cagle's wife was the daughter of the David Fee the Sheriff of Marion County, Arkansas. Cagle Funeral sevices were held in Lead Hill, Arkansas, for william Marion Cagel who died July 15 at the home of his daughter, Mrs Rea Weaver of Peel, Arkansas. He was born July 4, 1867 at Quincy, Arkansas. In January of 1893 he was united in marriage to Ella Fee of Peel. To this union eight children were born, four sons and four daughters. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 9, 1937; also two daughters and one son preceded him in death. He is survived by five children, Mrs Ada Smith and Ewell Cagle of Bridgeport, Connecticut, David Cagle, Summit, Arkansas and Mrs Edna Weaver and John Cagel of Peel. There are 23 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one half brother. Squire Meeks of Galena, Missouri. In July 1950, he was baptised and confirmed into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. William Cagel spent almost his entire life at Peel and was engaged in farming. He at one time lived in Stone County and was a half brother of the late Samu Standridge of Galena. Mr and Mrs Seth Tuttle and Mr and Mrs Earl Meeks Attnded the funeral of Mrs. Cagel. He was the uncle of Mrs Tuttle and Mr Meeks.
