Stella, I am not familiar with Johann Conrad Kegel; however, he is of an age to be related to Leonard Kegel from whom most researchers are descended. As to Anna Cagle, daughter of Benjamin, b. 1832, Moore Co., NC this is the census for 1870 for Benjamin; however, Anna is not included among those enumerated in the family unit. 1870 US Fed Census Edwardsville, Cleburn, AL, 11 Jul, pg 6, household 65, family 46, lines 30 - 33, I C Thompson, Asst Marshall CAGLE, Benjamin, 37, MW, Farmer, $1000/$100, NC, Literate Mary, 18, FW, At home, AL Richard, 12, MW, At home, AL Nancy, 10, FW, At home, AL (Note: Mary above is the right age to be Anna. Perhaps her name is actually Mary Anna Cagle. Also, she could be the neice of Ben and the daughter of Samuel who could not be located for the 1870 census.) It is supposed that she married prior to 1870 and was enumerated in the family of her husband. Church was an important part if not the only social activity for those living in rural areas. I am sure if she married, it would have been to one of the nearby families with sons of the approximate same age. Moore work definitely needs to be done with regards to Anna Cagle. Does anyone have any information on an Anna Cagle born in Paulding Co Ga. in 1853 to Benjamin CAGLE (b. Moore Co .N.C.abt 1832) and Anfeline ROBERTS b abt 1824 S.C.. They also had son James J Cagle 1855 Paulding Co Ga. (.I found his information.) Benjamin Cagle came to Al.and the 1860 Calhoun Co Al census has Anna age 7. I can't find if she lived, who she married. I am searching for the Alabama census in 1870, 1890 if it is free online?
