Tax List 1: Bet. 1777 - 1783, Cox's Dist, Cumberland Co., NC Tax List 2: 1752, Berks Co., PA Tax List 3: 1755, Orange County, NC Tax List 4: 1767, Cumberland Co., NC Notes for Johanetta Hart/Hardt: Johanetta's husband gave power of attorney in 1770 to Simon Hart, his neighbor at the forks of Bear and Cabin Creeks, to return to Pennsylvania and collect the Cagle, Sides and Clubb families' share in the estate of Andrew Felsinger, who had died in Northampton Co., PA. . This power of attorney is recorded in Cumberland Co Deed Book 3, p.524. . The group granting power of attorney aside from John were Henry Sides, Casper Clob/Clubb, Peter Sides and Dorotha Elizabeth Sides who was placed first and the others following in the same order. Regarding the identity of these five, it is known that Dorotha Elizabeth Sides, widow of John Henry Sides was a daughter of Andrew Felsinger of Northampton Co., PA, and that she had inherited the bulk of his estate, which was to be divided among her and her children. Thus, it would appear that the four men who signed the power of attorney with her were two of her sons, Henry and Peter Sides, and two of her sons-in-law, John Cagle and Casper Clob (who presumably were acting on behalf of their wives). Simon Hart is thought to be either the brother or the father of Johanetta. There was a Simon DeHart of adjoining Amnity Township who was a landowner and taxpayer as early as the 1730s. John and Johanetta were married by the Rev Daniel Schumacher. More About Johanetta Hart/Hardt: Burial: Bef. 1765, Cagle Cem, at Junction of #1002 & #1434, Moore Co., NC More About John Cagle and Johanetta Hart/Hardt: Death of one spouse: Abt. 1768, Moore County, North Carolina Marriage: 25 December 1754, Oley Township, Berks Co., Pennsylvania Notes for Catherina Seitz/Sides: In 1770, Catharina's mother, Widow Dorotha Elizabeth Felsinger, and two of their sons, Henry and Peter, joined Gaspar Clubb, son of Peter Clubb, and John Cagle (on behalf of Catharina), in empowering Simon Hart of Cumberland County to collect their share in the Estate of Andrew Felsinger, who had died in Northampton Co., Pennsylvania. Felsinger was the father of Dorotha Elizabeth Seitz. It is unclear how or if this Simon Hart is related to the Johanetta Hart who on Dec 25, 1754 was married to Johannes Koegell (John Cagle) in Oley Twp, Berks Co., PA. Simon is thought to be the son of German immigrant Michael Hart, who arrived in Philadelphia on Oct 20, 1752, on the ship "Duke of Wirtemberg". This Michael Hart may be identical to the Michael who by 1764 had migrated to Cumberland Co., NC, where he acquired multiple tracts of land, including a tract on Bear Creek near the Cagle property. More About John Cagle and Catherina Seitz/Sides: Marriage: Abt. 1770, Cumberland County, North Carolina Children of John Cagle and Johanetta Hart/Hardt are:   i. Elizabeth3 Cagle, born Abt. 1756 in Moore County, North Carolina; died in NC. She married Unknown Gilmore. Notes for Elizabeth Cagle: Elizabeth was identified in her father's Will of 1799 as "Elizabeth Gilmore" who may have been the wife of a James Gilmore. James was the son of John and Jane Gilmore of Cumberland County, NC who lived in the vicinity of John Dutchman Cagle. .............................................................
