David and list, After finding out more information from the list, I really dug my heels in and did some research. For you, I have good news. For me, I have hit the perpetual brick wall. Apparently, from everything I have found, I have arrived at the conclusion that my John Cagle cannot be the son of your George Cagle (son of Henry Jr.). I went back and really examined the 1880 census record of George Cagle in Fannin Co., Texas. I noticed that Eliza Bishop (aunt) was living in a household just before his. When I viewed the previous page, there it was: John Cagle and Sarah Cagle. This would be George's missing son I believe. Apparently your John did move to Texas with his parents. My John was born in Missouri, but does not show up until 1900, shown as married to Elibyre and with a couple of children. I will continue to search, but of course all my info is now incorrect. I did find a record which leads me to believe that my John Cagle's father is from Tennessee....can anyone help??? Thanks! --Micah-- Micah Allen <silvertrill@yahoo.com> wrote: David, In the 1870 U.S. Census, if you view the original image, you will find an Eliza Bishop and a William Hulin living in George H Cagle's household in Big Prairie, New Madrid, Missouri. If you scroll down you will find more Cagle's and more Hulins. The 1880 census shows Willie and Dora Bishop living adjacent to George's house. I'm sending you an invite to my page...that way you can view the exact records I am referring to on a more timely basis. Thanks for the will transcription....I am happy to have that! --Micah-- Val McGregor wrote: David, Micah, I am looking for Mary Adeline Cagle b. MAr 1855 in MO. Micah, I believe you need to look at this a little more carefully. It appears to me that this may be the same John Cagle with a second wife. I note the census says his wife has had 9 children with 3 living in 1900. There are four children shown in the census which suggests that she is probably a second wife.
