I am new to this list and descend from the Morehouse, Missouri Cagles. My ggg-grandfather was John Cagle, married to Elibyre J Unknown. My family descends from his son William James Cagle m. Minnie May Jordan. Our lineage goes as follows: myself, Kim Cagle, Luther Herman Cagle, Luther Thomas Cagle, William James Cagle, John Cagle, George Cagle, Henry Cagle, Henry Cagle, David Johan Theobald Cagle, Leonhart Kegel. I am responding to a post from 1999 but I'm hoping Earl or David (I couldn't discern which) is still out there because I too am looking for Morehouse Cagles. Thanks! --Micah-- --------------------------------- Got a little couch potato? Check out fun summer activities for kids.
Micah, I was just about ready to cancel my cagleemails. I think we are probably connected. I have a Mary Cagle who was my gggrandmother. I do not have any info on her. I've never been able to find any. She was in Stoddard CO, near Dexter. She married a Rogers then a Fowler. I am in the process of moving, so all my info is packed up. Do you have any Rankin connections? They were Morehouse/Dexter. If I do not get back to you within a couple of weeks, remind me. Val (don't cancel) and Micah Micah, I am a descendent of Henry Cagle, Jr. 1780-1857, who is the youngest Henry Cagle in the linage you published below. I live in Hardin Co., TN where Henry moved from when he went to New Madrid Co. MO in 1838. His son John, 1813-1879, my g/g/grandfather, and two sisters, Edna Cagle Smith and Susan Cagle (no record) remained in Hardin Co., TN. I don't know the name of Henry's first wife who apparently died ca 1840-45. After 1845, Henry married a second time to Rebecca Cobb McGee. When Henry died, Rebecca married Ransom Fluty the same year. Val, Can you give me some approximates dates on Mary, your g/g/grandmother? It's good to correspond with someone who might be related to my family.
