She was of the Baptist faith and was retired from U.T. Medical Center as a LPN. She was born in Knoxville to the late John and Katherine Wright Shook. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband, Edward E. Cagle; son, Edward C. Cagle; daughter, Marjorie Newman; eight brothers and sisters. Surviving are: her grandchildren, Sandy Cole, Kelly Newman and Leroy Cole; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Cole and Johnathan Newman.
