    2. Biddy O. Cagle was born 26 Jan 1885 in knoxville or Lenior City, TN. Her father was William Martin Cagle born 27 Nov 1844 in Sevier County, TN. I have been looking at this for years. So, you name is Biddy, well I was born back then but It sounds like a Nickname. Surly it is. So what could a Name like Biddy be short for? Betty, Bettie, ECT!! Ok, what could the O. in here name be. I know Olean Cagle in Marysville but I dont think it stand for that. Now this is not something Im dying to help someone with but just more curious about. Kim, Mary, Lee, David , Earl, Nancy Jane, Lamona, Olean and others..............I would like to hear from you on the name Biddy!! I dont call this a great msytery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     3. Hi, Ashley, Well, this is a fun one! Biddy is the diminutive form of Bridget, a Gaelic name used in Ireland in the form of Biddy. Also, it can be used in place of Bidalia, a less common name.     3. Ashley and others, I found a "Biddy Cagle James, born 5/11/1913, married John A. James, died 10/4/1987 and buried in the Beckwourth Cemetery (Whispering Pines), Plumas County, CA.
