I have William C. Cagle, born abt 1754 using the 1850 Sevier Co. census as a guide line, and Mary abt 1759 using the 1850 census. I don't think Feriby/Fereby etc.=Fereby was married until 5 Nov 1851 Monroe Co., TN to William Bain, census date abt 1815 Randolph Co., Mr. John G. Cagle has William her father on the Tax list at this time. Input from other Cagles jump in) Now here is a real dinger. This page was sent to me by Mr. John G. Cagle, Little Rock AR Chancery Court Records of McMinn County, TN. issue 1980 p. 227 What book?? #1240 Fereby Bain vs George Cagle filed 29 June 1892. Fereby, near age 75, is the widow of late William Bain who died in Polk Co. some eight or ten years ago without children and who was a pensioner. She was persuaded to go live with Cagle, son of her brother, who promised to look after her. Some nine months ago because of starvation she went to live with Newton Webb. She charges that she never saw her pension money of $124 per year, but that Cagle used it to build a fine dwelling house. Suit for return of $800 to $1200 pension money which Cagle used. Cagle answered that it is not true that Bain died without heirs, that Ferraby was brought to his house by her stepson, that part of the time she lived with his brother Martin Cagle. Case compromised by Cagle paying $40. Here is a marriage someone copied on this page NOTE: Newton Webb m. July 8, 1869 to Elizabeth Cagle no County gave for the marriage. Sorry I did not look up in the 1860 census to see where Freaby etc. was living to see if she had any step children. LaMona
