    3. The message from LaMona Phillips hits my Cagle line. I am descended from William C. Cagle (abt 1754) and Mary "Barrett" Cagle (abt 1759), through their son John Cagle born 1802 in Moore County, NC. John Cagle married Phereby (Feruby) Rogers, 22 Feb 1827 in Blount County, TN. Their daughter, Phereby "Ferbie Lee" Cagle, born 05 Aug 1845 in TN, was my g-grandmother. She married Stephen Decator Saffell 05 Aug 1863 in TN. His parents were James Saffell and Mary "Polly" Webb (daughter of Larkin Webb). So, I have Cagles, Saffells and Webbs in this line. Do these Cagles and Webb families fit in with the ones mentioned in the lawsuit - Phereby Cagle Bain and Newton Webb? More research necessary here. I hope a lot of information is generated on this line of the Cagle family, as I am still very confused with a lot of the information I have. I believe the information I obtained from LDS records is really all mixed up. It shows, William and Mary had the following children: John b. 1802 in Moore County, NC William b. 1802 in Moore County, NC George b. 1812 in Moore County, NC James b. 1813 in Moore County, NC Jesse b. 1814 in Moore County, NC Ishem (Isea) b. 1815 in Moore County, NC Phereby b. 1816 in Moore County, NC Greenberry b. 1820 in Moore County, NC O.K. - I can buy the first two children listed born in 1802. William would have been 48 years of age and Mary would have been 43 years of age. Then - a lapse of 10 years - no children? Starting in 1812 (ages 58 and 53) six more children, ending with Greenberry born in 1820 (mother and father ages would be 61 and 66). I have to agree with others that some of these children must belong to someone else, possibly William Cagle Jr. Also, if Mary and William were married in 1787, he would have been 33 years old and she would have been 28. This would certainly allow time for either, or both of them, to have been married before. And, if they were married in 1787, were there no children born prior to William and John in 1802?? This sounds a bit odd too. Does anyone have a "complete & correct" list of the children of William C. Cagle and Mary "Barrett" Cagle? If so, I would really appreciate a copy of it. -----Original Message----- From: LaMona Phillips <lphilli@lightspeed.net> To: CAGLE-L@rootsweb.com <CAGLE-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, August 29, 1999 3:57 PM Subject: Earl wrote >Earl Wrote: Lets get some action going.
