My grgrgrandfather, William H. Stokes, b. 8 Sep 1813, GA, d. 18 Feb 1884. He was reared in Warren County, TN. He married MARY MARGARET CAGLE (so family lore says) probably in Warren Co. TN. She is shown on the 1850 Federal Census in Hancock Co., AL in the household of William Stokes. Age 32, B. NC. The children's ages range from 10 down thru 1. So they probably married in the late 1830's. There are lots of CAGLES in Warren Co., TN during these time periods but have not been able to find their marriage date or her parents.
