List: Reference Earl's message concerning the baptizm of Anna Maria Kegel b: May 1794 and Johannes Kegel b: Jan 17, 1797, children of Valentine and Catherine/Claudia. It was previously reported by someone on this list that these two children were baptized at Dutch Buffalo Creek, St John's Lutheran Church, Cabarrus County, NC on the same date of Jan 28, 1798 and sponsored by Andrew and Elizabeth Stauch. I don't want to quibble over details; however, this could have bearing on these children's place of birth which is a legitimate question. Would the list member who posted the above information, please furnish his/her source. Additionally, does anyone know when Valentine Cagle died. I have two different dates which are 1812 and 1825, both in Warren County, Tennessee. Likewise, I have two different places of birth (1) Montgomery County, NC and (2) Moore County, NC. Which is correct. Unless someone has more compelling evidence of the parentage of Valentine, I suggest we all accept Johanne Theoboldt (David) Cagle as the proper parent. This will greatly assist future members and result in less confusion. To Earl and David: Thanks for clearing this up. Does anyone wish to comment on LaMonna's posting of the first three generations as previously posted by Nancy Balmer or may we all accept that information as the most recent? I realize this information changes daily as new information is discovered but, is this the most recent information available or does anyone wish to add anything.
