Notes: Valentine's name was actually seplled "Voluntine" in this listing. in the 1860 Census of DeKalb Co. ala, Martha was listed as head of household, suggesting that Valentine died in the 1850s. Son Henry was listed in 1860 DeKalb, as age 34; thin in 1880 Marion, Ala, as 54. The stone appears to be had carved and lettered. alsois lined with stone slabs onthe sides of the grave, and topped with a single flat coffin-shaped slab, a number of Cagel graves of this type are found throughout the South . there is another stone the same way behind her, but the name can't be read . Nearby is the similar grave of C. Cagle probably Charle Cagle of Marion County, Alabama.
