I am all for sorting out the early generations of, Cagle's. This however, is not an easy task to sort out. There is very little early documentation as to births. There are census records, but as you all know these didn't start until 1790. Baptismal records are helpful but are hard to find. There is to my knowledge only two children proven to Leonhart. He & his first wife Maria Elisabetha, had their daughter Maria Margareta, confirmed in 1729, in Sembach, Germany. She was 14 yrs. old at the time of her confimation. This would put her born abt. 1715. Then Leonhart & Susanna, had their son Johhan Theobald Kegel, baptised on 2 may 1728. His date of birth is given as 29 April 1728. It is felt by myself & John G. Cagle, that all of their children were on board the "Loyal Judith". As to their sons nobody knows for sure. As an example besides the Maria Margareta, were there any sons born to this first marriage? Anyone on this list is welcome to work on the early generations. My sugestion however, is to start with one generation. This of course being the children born to Leonhart, Maria, & Susannah. Earl
