This is from a small book from John G. Cagle, Cagle Census Records of the South , 1790-1850: (I just copied down Sevire Co. TN, it dose have more Counties, and States) this is what it has on the 1850 census: of Sevier County, Tennessee 1830 Sevier , TN Cagle, William 0000100001-0001000001 p. 102 (1840 Sevier, TN) " Henry 01021001 -10101 095 ( " " ) " William 110001 -211001 106 ( " " ) " John N.C. 110001 -20001 097( " " ) " Elijah 20001 -10001 094 ( " " ) " Polly 0111 -010001 102 ( 1840 --?? ) " John 20001 -10001 095 (1840 Sevier, TN) Notes: William Cagle, Sr. p.102, above , was the oldest son of Henry Cagle, Sr. the early settler in Cumberland (present Moor) County, NC who died and ldgt a will in Moore Co. in 1802. William appeared in the 1790 Census and 1800 census of Moore Co., and in the 1810 censes of Randolph Co. NC. After appearing in the 1815 Randolph Tax List , William disappears from NC records, and is believed to have moved to TN. He location for the 1820 census has not been found. Henry, above , and the younger William , are believed to have been the sons of William Sr. , as were perhaps John N. C. Cagle, and the deceased husband of Polly Cagle. Elijah and the younger John may have been grandsons of William Sr., though all the Cagle family relationships of Sevier County, have yet been worked out. 1840 Sevier , TN Cagle, William 0000000000 -0000100001 p 186 (1850 Sevier, TN) " Henry 010000001 -21101 176 (d.1840s?) (on one of the other pages it has 1880 blount, TN , 10th Civil District., it has this Polly living with her daughter Elvira More, with her children , It says in the notes: (Polly was the widow of William Cagle, c.1802-1863, of 1850 Sevier, TN and 1860 Bradley, TN. In 1850, Wm. and Polly had lived next door to Isem & Mary Cagle,, parents of Isaac above. William Isem may have been brothers) More notes at the bottom of page. The Cagle's of Sevier, Blount, Monroe, Bradley, McMinn, Loudon, and Knox cols represent, for the most part one exteded family, tracing back to the Cagle settlement in Sevier Co. in the 1810s, headed by William C. Cagle, ca.1754-1850s, eldest son of Henry Cagle, Sr. d. 1802 of Morre County, NC. (this is on page 423 1860 Blount County, TN. Vol II, John G. Cagle's book, you have to remember that this book was put out in 1987.) This is all it has in this little book about Sevier County, Tennessee: Nancy Jane Tarzana , CA. April
