    1. Re: Johan Theobald "David" Cagle
    2. David Cagle
    3. Jim, Until the 1728 birth date of David Cagle was found recently, he was thought to have been born in the 1710's. Some of his children whose dates also were not known (and still aren't) were considered to be older than perhaps they actually were. Valentine was one of those. I have a question also. Was there more that one Valentine? Tonight, I have seen Valentine listed as a son of David and a son of John "Dutchman." The will of John "Dutchman" does not mention a Valentine. I believe this confusion has come about because some have assumed that Johan Theobald Cagle was identical to John "Dutchman" Cagle, when in reality Johan Theobald Cagle and "David Cagle" are one and the same. This Name has been explained by John G. Cagle in "The Cagle Journal." My opinion is and has been that Valentine was the son of David. I hope someone has proof one way or the other.
