William Cagle d- 1885 owned land from U.S. 64 Chestnut Gap Rd. to Cagle Rd. Lou Emma Cagle and Fred Orr inherited land from U.S. 64 Chestnut Gap Rd. to Rowe Rd. Robert inherited land on Cagle Rd. Jane Lorena Cagle & Robert Corn had land along Rowe Rd. Descendants of all 3 still live on part of the property. Lawrence Cagle son of William Logan Cagle, lives on the homeplace of Robert Cagle. Ebenezer Cemetery is on N. side of U.S. 64 & Howard Gap Rd. Blue House Cemetery , is South Dana School and Refuge Cemetery is North of Dana School. The lands of the parents of the younfg folks, above were in shouting distance . . . perhaps one could see from one high point across to the other; at least it establishes the early arrival of these two pioneer families in the early formation of the county, and thus they have been honored even unto this day with the name of these families (the referance here is to Corn Mountain and Cagle Mountain, Henderson Co. landmarks lying on the lands settled by those two families.
