Earl and List, The will abstract you mention from Northampton Co, PA is the one I have a copy of. Just to make sure everyone is up to date, this will was dated 1789 and probated in 1794 in Northampton Co, PA. This will is in old German and I have spent 9 months trying to get it translated and I even sent it to Germany, but they couldn't understand it either. Several copies are currently in circulation so hopefully someone will be able to translate. >From the little I can make out let me tell you what I know. There are many pages to the will including the pages that list the distribution of the estate. This will spells the name several different ways. I see it as Kegall, Kogel (w/umlaut over the o), and Kiegel. Now one of the individuals mentioned in the abstract is a George, and, if I'm not mistaken, it looks to me like one of the witnesses is a George Kiegel. Henry Kegel's wives name I believe is Elizabeth. On a personal note this will does list a Jacob Keller. Strangely enough Jacob Keller is one of my great grandfathers on my mothers side. He lived in the same township as Henry Kegel. I would love to find out that my mother and fathers ancestors knew each other in the 1700's and got back together 200 years and many moves later. I'll keep plugging away at this will and will be happy to send out a copy to anyone interested in trying as well. A copy of the first page is on the net at the URL below. http://www.angelfire.com/pa/civilwarcagle/images/will.jpg Have a Good Evening! Tom Saegertown, PA
