Family has passed his name down as James Henry, although on the Whitley Co.Ky, 1900 census his name is listed as Harve Kegel 72yrs. B.Nov. 1827. He has his birth place listed Tn. Parents N.C. He is living with my grandmother and her family at the time. Then I find my grandmother Laura Magnolia and her siblings on LDS with the parents as Henry P. Cagle and Catherine Stokes. Although I didn't know Catherines first name I did know that her last was Stokes. I have noticed on the forum that your line of Cagles seem to be connected to mine. Especially the possible cherokee blood.Though we haven't been able to prove it, my mother is supposed to be one quarter indian, with family connections from Okl.
