By 1860 Charles moved into Arkansas , with Chas. locating in Van Buren Co., and Elijah in neighboring Conway county. Charles had been married to Margaret Hardwick in Ripley Co., Mo. on October 03, 1847, and she was the mother of the 5 youngest children listed above. Jacob Elias was born in Davidson Co., TN , the son of old Jacob c.1770s-1836, and tha grandson of John Cagle, Sr. c. 1740s-1826, who had moved from Cabarrus co., NC to TN about 1800. In the late 1820s, Jacob Elias went with his father to Sangamon Co., IL, and was married there to Clarissa Babbitt in 1832. Not long afterward, they moved to Iowa Co., Wisconsin, in the lead-mining section of that state. Jacov e. and wife appeared in the 1836 State census there, and in the 1840 Federal census. Clarissa was listed as head of household in 1850 census of Lafayette Co., WI (formed from Iowa County in 1846) While Jacobwas out of the county at work. This family moved to LA in the 1860s and son Thomas Denton Cagle settled permanently in Red River County.
