looked on the Corn Forum and found the full birthdates of Margaret. and some extra notes that I put into my file, I think there was someone asking about the Cagle/Corn family. Descendants of Silas Peter Corn Generation No. 1 1. Silas Peter3 Corn (John Peter2, Mathew1 Korn/Corn) was born September 18, 1803 in Wilkes County, North Carolina, and died June 09, 1884 in Henderson County, North Carolina. He married Margaret Elizabeth Cagle, daughter of John Cagle and Jane. Notes for Silas Peter Corn: Silas was an accomplished stone-mason, he prepared the tombstones for himself and his wife in advance of their death, all except for the actual date of death. Silas' dates were 9/15/1803 --6/9/1884; those of his wife were 1/30/1804 -- 9/11/1884. Silas appeared in a number of land transactions in the Henderson Co. region, one of which was a land grant which he took out on August 22, 1844 for 296 acres of land on the Devil's fork of Mud Creek in Henderson county. In the 1830 census of Buncombe Co., the family was listed with three young daughters; and, by the time of the 1840 census of Henderson Co. the number of children had increased to ten: 1830 Buncombe Co. NC Corn, Silas 00001 - 12001 1840 Henderson Co. NC Corn , Silas 010001 - 242101 1850 Henderson Co. NC Corn, *Peter 46 NC (Silas Peter Corn) Elizabeth 46 " Francis Marion 15 " Elmyra 13 " Emily 10 " Avery Powell 7 " Elizabeth 5 " Matha 3 (this was Silas listed as Peter Corn, which was perhaps his middle name .) 1860 Henderson Co. NC Corn, Silas 56 NC Elizabeth 56 " Avery 19 " Elizabeth 15 " Martha 13 " Corn , Jane 35 " Joseph 11 " Arminta 15 " Notes: Prior to the 1850 census, above, at least two of the older children in the family, daughters Sarah M. and Margaret Eliza, had married and left home. By the time of the 1860 census of Henderson Co. silas and wife had only their three youngest children still living in their household; also living with them in that year were Jane Corn (belived to have been the widow of Silas Corn, Jr.) and her two children Judging from the 1830 census and 1840 censuses, it would seem that Silas Corn and wife may have had more children than those listed above; perhaps some of the daughters enumerated in those censes died before reaching adulthood. The possibility that there was a Silas Corn Jr. , who died as a young man and left a widow and two orphans. This information below is from Gary Cornn: Second Generation (Parents) 2.
